WILLIAM IV (1830 - 1837)

Ellerby Windmill

In October 1830, George and William Boyd of Hull offered their newly built wind corn mill and millhouse at Ellerby for sale or letting. The brick built mill had four regulating sails, weather boards and flyers to turn into the wind. There were three pairs of mill stones, four feet six inches in diameter (French blue and greys), a full size cylinder and a corn screen. The mill house had a cart shed, stable, piggeries and a garden.
